Sacra Sacrorum

I am teaching a graduate seminar at Berkeley this term on the theme of 'Sovereignty and Sacrality.'  This is partly a trial run for a new book I'm writing.  We spent the first month or so working our way through Carl Schmitt and Giorgio Agamben.  We now are working our way backwards, starting with one of the most important sources for both Schmitt's and Agamben's theory of the state of exception - Jean Bodin.

There is one passage in Bodin's famous chapter on the jura majestatis - a reference to the regalia majora discussed by Baldus:

Bodin, De Republica Libri VI Paris: Jacques Du Puys, 1591: I.x

'Sacra sacrorum': Bodin attributes this to Baldus in his Proemium to his commentary, Super Feudis, on feudal law.  I have not been able to locate this, and I've consulted with colleagues who are experts in the jus commune.  The closest I've been able to locate such as passage is Baldus ad §Intellecto in the Decretals.

If I can find a more concrete connection, I will try to discuss the evidence I've located at my next public engagement - later this month at Florida, where I'll be giving one of the plenary lectures.
